Shirin Shakhesi is an Iranian-Australian animator and motion graphic designer, holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in Animation from the University of Melbourne. Her work encompasses digital painting, video animation, and visual storytelling, often exploring themes of cultural identity, collective memory, and personal reflection. Shirin’s animated films have been featured at prestigious international festivals, including the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), the Melbourne International Animation Film Festival (MIAF), and the Queensland Art Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA). Her work is recognized for its thought-provoking narratives and ability to engage audiences with broader social and philosophical issues. Through her animations, Shirin strives to create immersive, expressive experiences that foster reflection and connection.
